The first clip from the imminent Star Wars series, Ahsoka, has been unleashed, and offers spaceship dogfights and lightsaber action aplenty. Released courtesy of Star Wars on Twitter (now known as X), the footage teases what’s to come when Ahsoka lands on Disney+ next week. Check out the new clip below.

The first reactions to Ahsoka have also now arrived, and the response so far has been hugely positive. “The first 2 episodes of #Ahsoka are a lot of fun, especially for fans of REBELS and CLONE WARS. Love Ashoka’s fight scenes the most. The 1st episode is written & directed by Dave Filoni & it’s my fav of the two. Definitely more serious in tone. This is some good #StarWars,” says one Star Wars fan.

Another adds, “It might be called Ahsoka, but it's basically a live action Rebels & I'm not mad at it. The first 2 episodes made me cheer, laugh, cry... & really want a loth cat! Great lightsaber fights & lots of heart. If you haven't seen the Rebels animated series, watch it now.”

Ahsoka will find the former Jedi Padawan making allies and enemies while hunting down the villainous Grand Admiral Thrawn. This latest look at Ahsoka teases all manner of interstellar and lightsaber action as The Mandalorian star Rosario Dawson reprises the role of outcast, rebel, and Jedi, Ahsoka Tano. Ahsoka will debut on the streaming platform Disney+ on August 23, 2023. The first (and possibly only) series of Ahsoka will consist of eight episodes, with the show taking place in the same timeframe as the likes of The Mandalorian and the other small screen Star Wars spinoffs, which will all conclude in a movie set to be helmed by Dave Filoni.

Alongside the first clip, several trailers have also teased the adventures of the Star Wars warrior, outcast, rebel, Jedi. Ahsoka Tano takes center stage in the upcoming Disney+ series, with trailers revealing glimpses at several major characters including Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma and the live action debut of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Check out the first trailer for Ahsoka below.

Beloved Star Wars: The Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano finally made her live action debut during the second season of The Mandalorian, in which she was portrayed to perfection by Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Clerks III star Rosario Dawson. No doubt fans are looking forward to following the character on her own adventure, as well as seeing the live action debut of several major Star Wars staples.

Aside from Ahsoka, Star Wars fans will giddy to see just a glimpse of the live action debut of Grand Admiral Thrawn. An imperial military leader and member of the Chiss race, Thrawn leads the remnants of the scattered Galactic Empire against some of the Star Wars’ best known heroes, including Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, and Chewbacca. Ahsoka’s vendetta against Thrawn is a lot more personal though, and should provide the series with some serious drama.

Ahsoka is just one of several Star Wars projects set for release on Disney+ in the foreseeable future. The third season of the hugely popular The Mandalorian aired recently, with a fourth outing already in development. The streaming platform will also debut the galaxy-exploring adventure Star Wars: Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law, the second season of the animated anthology series Star Wars: Visions, the Jedi-based series The Acolyte, and the second season of the critically acclaimed Andor.

“If you know your ending, it really helps,” Andor creator Tony Gilroy said of the second season, which is expected to be released in summer 2024. “We know exactly where we’re going. You know what you have to deliver emotionally and what the story has to do. It’s a decision borne of survival, but it’s good for us creatively.”

Developed by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni for Disney+, Ahsoka is now scheduled to be released in August 2023. The rest of the Ahsoka cast includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, as well as Ivanna Sakhno, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, and Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka's former Jedi mentor.
