The impressive genius of the long, long, long-awaited sequel, Avatar 2, has been teased by star Michelle Yeoh. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, Yeoh heaped praise on legendary director James Cameron, declaring that she would be happy to be his tea lady if it would allow her to bask in his filmmaking genius. While there are doubts that Avatar 2 will be worth the ridiculously long wait, Michelle Yeoh is more than confident in Cameron’s vision for the franchise.

"So, yes, I am in the Avatar sequels and as you know we can't really talk very much about it. But it's James Cameron! Come on! I would be the tea lady for James Cameron! We shot for a few weeks, and I was so impressed with the work that he's done, the work that he's doing, the energy. He's a genius, he's a walking genius. And I really really enjoyed the experience and I can't wait to go back soon, I hope."

Michelle Yeoh, who is known for roles in the likes of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and a vast array of iconic martial arts movies, will join the world of Avatar as Dr. Karina Mogue. Not much is yet known about how her character will factor into Avatar 2, but Yeoh clearly had a blast working on the project and hints that she could return in future sequels.

The first of several planned Avatar sequels, Avatar 2 will pick up some 13 years after the first record-breaking outing, introducing audiences to Jake and Neytiri’s new family. This will include several native Na’vi children, Neteyam (Jamie Flatters), Lo’ak (Britain Dalton), and Tuktirey (Trinity Bliss), as well as the human child Miles Socorro, also known as Spider, played by The Night Sitter star Jack Champion. Spider is taken into the brood of Avatar heroes Jake and Neytiri after being born at the now-abandoned military base on Pandora. Too young to be returned to Earth, Jake decides to take the child in as one of their own, much to the chagrin of Neytiri.
