If you pay attention to the world of comic book movies online, you'll know that there has been an outcry for more female characters on the big screen. Avengers: Age of Ultron director Joss Whedon is an advocate of that, and puts the spotlight on two very strong women in his upcoming sequel. A new featurette takes a look at both Scarlet Witch and Black Widow, and their place in this thrilling landscape that is dominated mostly by men and one very angry robot.

First, Marvel president and producer Kevin Feige delves into the history of female characters in the comics, explaining that it is always on their minds to bring these powerful superheroes to the big screen. This idea is sold home with footage of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow as she takes out Baron Von Strucker's army on her own. The actress is on hand to describe her Russian super spy as someone who is not exactly a team player, but knows she belongs to The Avengers. She is part of this team, and helps solidify the family.

Director Joss Whedon also offers more insight into bringing a new take on Black Widow. He then goes onto introduce Elizabeth Olsen as new character Scarlet Witch. We get to see her in action as she defies Ultron to fight as an Avenger. As Scarlett Johansson explains, Marvel is broadening their world through Black Widow and Scarlet Witch. It makes the audience more invested in the future of these characters. And she thinks that's pretty cool. Take a look:
