Earlier this year, director Joe Russo, who is directing Avengers: Infinity War with his brother Anthony Russo, teased that this upcoming movie will unite the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, it seems unlikely that any of the members of the TV side of the MCU will be present in this massive movie, such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. Of course, nothing has been confirmed yet, but during a recent interview, Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt revealed there is one character he would like to meet, The Punisher.

Back in 2013, Marvel re-acquired the rights to The Punisher, Ghost Rider and Blade. Jon Bernthal was cast as The Punisher in Daredevil Season 2, and the character is also getting his own show, while Ghost Rider is coming to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4. Chris Pratt recently spoke to We Got This Covered while promoting The Magnificent Seven, where he was asked what Marvel character he would like to meet in Avengers: Infinity War. Here's what he had to say below.

"Oh, gosh. I don't know. I'll have to leave all that to Marvel, releasing who's going to fight what. Me personally, I don't even know the right answer to that. If I say the wrong thing I'll get in trouble by Marvel or by the fans. It'd be awesome - I would like Peter Quill to meet the Punisher. He's not in the Avengers, but if I'm talking Marvel Cinematic Universe, I think it'd be cool for Peter Quill. Punisher was my favorite growing up so that'd be cool for me to meet him."

The Russo Brothers had previously teased that there would be upwards of 67 characters in Avengers: Infinity War, but they have since backed away from that exact number. It has been confirmed that Chris Pratt's Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy will be featured in Avengers: Infinity War. It is also believed that the recently-cast Brie Larson will make her MCU debut as Captain Marvel before her own stand alone movie.

Chris Pratt will return as Star-Lord alongside the rest of the Guardians in the upcoming sequel Guardians of the Galaxy 2, hitting theaters on May 5, 2017. Avengers: Infinity War will start production late this year, with Marvel setting a May 4, 2018 release date.
