It has long been rumored that Thanos will not show up to fight the Avengers until the franchise is ready to close itself out. We now have confirmation that the biggest, baddest presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally reveal himself to earth and its mighty superheroes in what has been announced as the two-part epic Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War 2.
Both movies were announced during today's massive Marvel movie reveal that Disney held at the El Capitan theater. It was there that the entire slate of upcoming releases was revealed saving Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Infinity War 2 for last. The announcement arrived with a teaser trailer that is now online, giving us all our first look at the Infinity Gauntlet, which has been teased throughout the former movies.
Infinity War refers to a six-issue Marvel comic book series launched in 1992, and it directly deals with the Infinity Gauntlet. The Infinity Gauntlet was designed to hold six of the 'soul gems', better known as the Infinity Gems. When used in combination their already impressive powers make the wearer able to do anything he/she wants. It was gathered by the mad Titan Thanos as he took the gems from the Elders of the Universe that had originally carried them. Take a look as it is revealed in this footage from the event.
