Avengers 4 has a cool visual nod to Back to the Future 2. The epic superhero movie has more than a few Back to the Future franchise references, but this particular Easter Egg took some time to find. Luckily, one eagle-eyed fan pointed it out and now it will never be seen the same again. This is a lot deeper than most Easter Eggs as it also references another movie and is more than just Scott Lang asking, "So Back to the Future is a bunch of bullsh*t?"

In Back to the Future 2, Marty McFly can be seen walking around in the future where he comes across the Jaws 19 hologram in Robert Zemeckis' vision of 2015. The hologram looks like it's going to devour McFly. One fan on Reddit noticed that the hologram scene is visually the same as the conclusion of the final battle scene in Avengers: Endgame. Specifically, it's when Rocket Raccoon is nearly consumed by Thanos' Leviathan, right before Tony Stark snaps it away from existence.

It's just another nod to a fellow movie involving time travel, though this is a pretty deep cut. Time travel elements in both Back to the Future Part II and Avengers: Endgame have been called out by fans, though many forget that these movies are fictional stories, starring fictional characters. Regardless, the Back to the Future franchise is one of the most beloved in cinematic history and fans are still waiting for a fourth installment, though the chances of that happening are slim to none, at least while Robert Zemeckis and co-writer Bob Gale are alive.

Christopher Lloyd is all for Back to the Future 4 and would return to star with Michael J. Fox. The two have reunited a few times over the years for commercials and convention appearances, but that's about it. So, it's always good to see a movie as big as Avengers: Endgame bring the franchise back to possibly introduce it to a new generation who might not have even heard of Back to the Future. Bob Gale was appreciative to be mentioned in the movie and he thought the Scott Lang joke was hilarious, even though he didn't make any money from it. Original George McFly, Crispin Glover, is another story.

The Russo Brothers previously spoke about how Avengers: Endgame differs from the Back to the Future franchise in terms of its time travel mechanics, noting that they're "playing by a different set of rules." The time travel mechanic in Endgame were a bit hard to follow, but apparently it was even harder, which is why the directors went in and added new footage to better explain their version of time travel. Regardless, it all worked out in the end since the movie is not the highest grossing of all time. The Back to the Future Part II Easter Egg in Endgame was first spotted on Reddit.
