Avengers: Endgame behind-the-scenes footage features an unused Tony Stark line. The scene takes place during the major battle towards the end of the movie when Doctor Strange brings all of the Decimated heroes and more to fight Thanos and his army. A lot of the set videos from Endgame have focused more on the amount of cast members that was around at the time, but this one gives an intriguing look at the process the Russo Brothers go through on the set.

The first half of the latest behind-the-scenes look at Avengers: Endgame shows Robert Downey Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch discussing the scene with the Russo Brothers. It seems like Doctor Strange's line about not being able to tell Tony Stark about the one chance was in the script, but everything else around it was open to interpretation by Downey Jr. The Russos say this is a big reveal for the audience and it has to be laid out that way as Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige observes from behind.

The second part of the video is the actual scene. We see some extras battling pretend enemies against a green screen as Doctor Strange makes his appearance through the help of some wires and Tony Stark asks about the one chance from five years ago. Strange reveals he can't tell him or it won't happen, so Stark replies by saying, "Welcome back anyway, asshole." The response gets some big laughs on the set, but it was ultimately not used as it was delivered rather clumsily from RDJ. These brief behind-the-scenes videos give a neat peek behind the curtain as to how the Russos like to work.

Collaboration seems to be the ultimate key to the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The Russo Brothers or Taika Waititi provide the context and most important pieces of dialogue, while the actors shade in the rest with what their character would do next. Chris Hemsworth took this to new heights when working with Waititi on Thor: Ragnarok and James Gunn used it quite a bit while making the Guardians of the Galaxy movies. When there's all of that talent available on the set, might as well utilize it in any way possible.

Some of the most emotional aspects of Avengers: Endgame were adlibbed by the cast while the cameras were rolling, like Tony Stark's death scene. Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Tom Holland all came up with their reactions on the spot. That's a lot of trust right there and it definitely worked out for the best. With all of the recent behind-the-scenes footage from Endgame hitting the internet, one has to wonder how much of it will end up on the Blu-ray edition of the movie.
