Deadpool joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe in latest Avengers: Endgame fan art. There has been a lot of talk lately about Disney acquiring Fox and the future of the fowl-mouthed character. Disney CEO Bob Iger revealed earlier this week that the Deadpool franchise will live on under the studio's clean cut umbrella, which fans were initially unsure of. Iger says that all of the R-rated material gained in the deal will be marketed in a different way as to not confuse consumers.

Since the good news was revealed, fan artist Rahal Nejraoui got to work on imagining Deadpool joining the team in Avengers: Endgame to take down Thanos and he looks pretty great. Nejraoui took the Merc with a Mouth's normal red suit and updated it to look like the new white and black Quantum Realm suits. Even Ryan Reynolds approved of the fan art, taking a second to like the image on social media. Obviously, Wade Wilson is not going to show up in Endgame, but it's still a pretty cool piece of art and something that is fun to think about.

Avengers: Endgame will close out Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Spider-Man: Far From Home will introduce Phase 4 later this summer. By then, if everything goes smoothly, the Disney and Fox deal should be complete and it will be time to start thinking about where the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Deadpool, and others fit into the Disney and Marvel Studios world. Even with the MCU set to change gears with new character focus, it's tough to imagine Wade Wilson getting in on the MCU fun, though one can easily imagine some A-list cameos in Deadpool 3 and X-Force.

Ryan Reynolds has always wanted his Deadpool to team up with Hugh Jackman's Wolverine on the big screen. That did happen in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, but no one was happy with how that mess came out. {Merc with a Mouth creator Rob Liefeld says that it's "inevitable" that the two will end up together, but it probably won't be with Reynolds and Jackman, leading one to believe that fans will be pretty disappointed. However, even seeing Wade Wilson get to mess with the MCU's new Wolverine could be something that works in the comedic realm.

Throwing Deadpool in with the Avengers: Endgame crew would certainly lighten the mood, and from the looks of things, that crew really needs some sunshine. Thanos completed his goal at the conclusion of Infinity War by wiping out half of all living things in the universe, restoring "balance." From the looks of the latest Endgame trailer, that so-called balance looks pretty bleak and our heroes all look pretty bummed out. The Merc with a Mouth could not only be an asset in battle, but he could provide a few laughs for Thor, who desperately needs some, or at least some friends and family who don't die.
