Surprise, surprise! Disney and Marvel have revealed that Avengers: Endgame will be available starting day one on Disney+. The streaming service is gearing up for its launch in the U.S. and it's offering a potentially attractive content lineup for subscribers, but things may have just become far more attractive as the biggest movie of the year will be included in an already impressive library of titles.

The plan was always to have Avengers: Endgame make its way to Disney+. However, it has previously been reported that the epic chapter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe wouldn't be hitting the streaming service until December. But, as revealed by The Avengers Twitter account, that has been bumped up a bit. Along with a brief video featuring a whole lot of fans asking whether or not the movie would be available at launch that concludes with Tony Stark's snap, the following message was shared.

"Oh snap! #AvengersEndgame is coming to Disney Plus. Start streaming the epic finale to Marvel Studios' Infinity Saga on November 12 in the US, Canada and Netherlands and on November 19 in Australia and New Zealand."

Disney+ is set to be the future streaming home of the MCU. That said, due to pre-existing licensing deals, not every MCU movie will be on the service at the start. Iron Man, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Captain Marvel will be available on day one in addition to Avengers: Endgame. That leaves some major gaps that need to be filled, but they undoubtedly will be in due time as the MCU is arguably the most valuable asset in Disney's massive library.

Aside from the movies, new shows that will more directly connect to the MCU will be produced for the streaming service. Shows such as The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, Loki and Hawkeye will be included in Phase 4 of the MCU, with other shows such as She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight also in the works. Marvel Studios is additionally producing an animated show titled What If? that will showcase alternate possibilities within the Marvel universe. Point being, Disney+ was already asserting itself as an essential subscription for Marvel fans and now, that's truer than it ever was.

Avengers: Endgame, directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, served not just as the follow-up to Infinity War, but as the culmination of everything that happened in the MCU starting with 2008's Iron Man. The movie went on to become a massive success, grossing $2.79 billion at the global box office, overtaking James Cameron's Avatar to become the highest-grossing movie ever. As it just so happens, Avatar will also be streaming on Disney+ at launch as the studio prepares to hype up the release of Avatar 2. Disney+ debuts on November 12. Be sure to check out the reveal from The Avengers Twitter account.
