Kevin Smith and Marc Bernardin aren't into the latest fake Thanos Avengers: Endgame theory that has been floating around online. With the fourth Avengers movie on the way, theories and speculation are spreading like wildfire while Marvel Studios keeps their mouths shut. With that being said, some of the fan theories are better than others, and it appears that the new fake Thanos idea isn't really holding much water amongst fans, including Smith and Bernardin, who took some time during their podcast to address it.

The Avengers: Endgame fan theory believes that the Thanos we saw in Infinity War is not the real Thanos, and that the threat coming our heroes' way in Endgame is the real Mad Titan. Time travel is heavily rumored to play a part in the upcoming movie, which Kevin Smith addresses, but as far as the fake Thanos theory is concerned, the writer/director isn't having it. Smith had this to say about the latest fan theory.

"There's a theory that I just heard from JC right before we came in that was online today. The theory is - it's a fan theory, I don't know where it comes from... a fan...that the Thanos we met was not the real Thanos, but an alternate reality Thanos, and that Avengers: Endgame is going to have the real Thanos, who is the Thanos that we saw in the mid-credits sequence in Avengers. Doesn't that found far f*cking fetched?"

The theory does sound a bit far-fetched, but instead of just bashing it, Kevin Smith offers reasoning behind his belief. Thanos was pretty powerful in Infinity War and we've been teased that Avengers: Endgame will introduce an even greater threat. However, it is unclear what that "bigger threat" will be. Smith had this to say.

"It's crazy to me because what you're presupposing then is like, Man that Thanos is nothing, this Thanos is gonna be badass. And I'm like, He f*cking killed half the people in the world, like what more do you want? You're telling me that's the weak Thanos?"

Kevin Smith also revealed that he recently had the chance to talk with Anthony Russo. In true Smith fashion, he was ecstatic that he was able to chat with Russo about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the main things that Smith was curious about was the fact that the snap, or Decimation, became such a phenomenon, so he asked Russo if they knew ahead of time that it was going to instantly be a part of pop culture. Russo claims that they had no idea and that they were shocked to see it become so big so fast.

Avengers: Endgame will be here at the end of April, but there are rumors that we'll get a TV spot during the Super Bowl this Sunday. That has yet to be confirmed, but that would be pretty cool for MCU fans all over the world. Kevin Smith would definitely be excited for a new TV spot for the most anticipated movie of 2019. Smith also revealed that Anthony Russo did not discuss any spoilers with him, so don't bother asking him. Head over to the Kevin Smith YouTube channel to check out what he had to say about the fake Thanos theory. The talk starts around the 23-minute mark.
