The latest Avengers: Endgame fan theory involves an unlikely team-up to save Tony Stark. Could Rocket Raccoon and Pepper Potts be the ones to go up and retrieve Iron Man and Nebula? According to a new fan theory, that's exactly what's going to happen, and it makes a lot of sense. Stark and Nebula are seen in the trailer drifting through space in the Benatar after running out of food and water. Stark is sending Potts a final goodbye through his busted up Iron Man helmet and the future looks bleak.
Thanks to an Audi promotional video, we know that Tony Stark will more than likely make it back to Earth to fight Thanos. There have also been leaked set photos that point to this happening as well, but we're not sure how he and Nebula make it back. An MCU fan on Reddit came up with a great theory that unites Pepper Potts and Rocket. At the end of Infinity War, Rocket is the only Guardian (except for Nebula) to survive, but he doesn't know that since the majority of his crew were on Titan fighting Thanos.
Since Rocket Raccoon doesn't know that the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy were dusted (or thrown off of a cliff), he's going to be wanting to locate them. And since he's all alone now, save for his new buddy Thor, he'll more than likely get sent to Stark Enterprises to get a ship to locate the Benatar where he'll meet Pepper Potts for the first time, who will also be looking for a way to find Tony Stark. The two might team-up to go find their loved ones. This makes sense because we've already seen Gwyneth Paltrow in the Rescue suit and because Rocket is a technological wizard.
This Avengers: Endgame theory makes a lot of sense, but it might be too easy for the Russo Brothers to consider. However, stranger things have happened and a new friendship between "Rabbit" and Pepper Potts could make for some much needed comic relief in what is expected to be a pretty dark movie. From there, Rocket will be reunited with Nebula, where she can fill him in on what happened to the rest of his family. There's been a lot of talk about Tony Stark, Hank Pym, Shuri, and Bruce Banner being the tech people, but Rocket might be able to show them all a few tricks when all is said and done.
This is obviously just fun speculation for the time being and nothing has been confirmed by Marvel Studios. The studio along with the cast and crew are really keeping their mouths shut about Avengers: Endgame and for a few, they might not even really know what happens in the movie due to the intense security measures that the studio has in place, which is a good thing for MCU fans who want to have some surprises when they see it on the big screen for the first time.
