Several of the actors playing the members of Thanos' Black Order in Infinity War have been revealed. Directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo made the reveals during a recent interview, having recently embarked on the massive press tour for the movie. First and foremost, it's confirmed that British actress Carrie Coon will play Proxima Midnight. Here's what Joe Russo had to say about it.

"Carrie Coon is Proxima Midnight. and you may know her from season three of Fargo or the Leftovers."

In addition to the Emmy-nominated Fargo actress taking on the role of Proxima Midnight, it was also revealed that Irish actor Tom Vaughan-Lawlor will play Black Order member Ebony Maw, who has telekinetic powers. Lastly, Terry Notary (Avatar), will play Cull Obsidian. The character is mostly silent, but Notary provided the motion capture performance for Obsidian, with Anthony Russo saying, "He's not so much a voice." Joe Russo added that the name of his character was changed from the comics.

"Well, he did voice the character, but he's one of the most gifted movement specialists in the world right now. He played a character who we've called Cull Obsidian, who was in the books known as Black Dwarf. So it's kind of an all-star cast of baddies."

The Russo brothers didn't reveal why exactly the name change was made, but Black Dwarf, in any case, doesn't sound quite as cool as Cull Obsidian anyway. This is good news all around though, as it sounds like Marvel didn't just go out and get a bunch of nobodies to play these characters. While they may not be big names, all of these actors are quite accomplished. That bodes well for those who have been excited about the prospect of seeing The Black Order on the big screen in Infinity War.

The Black Order is a team of five very powerful warriors who aid Thanos in his villainous doings. The team was first introduced in the Infinity comic book event series, which was published by Marvel Comics in 2013. We've known for some time now that they are going to be included in Avengers: Infinity War, but we've only been treated to little glimpses here and there at the characters. It looks like they're mostly going to be a surprise for fans when they see the movie.

One thing worth mentioning is that Proxima Midnight is married to her fellow Black Order member Corvus Glaive in the comics. It's unclear at the present time if that relationship is being carried over into Avengers: Infinity War. It also hasn't been revealed just yet who is playing Corvus Glaive. The massive Marvel event makes its way to theaters on April 27 and, so far, has outsold the last seven MCU movies combined, in terms of pre-sale tickets. So this is going to be a massive hit at the box office. Let's just hope that the Russo brothers managed to make a satisfying movie. This news comes to us courtesy of Radio Times.
