Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness will reportedly return to the MCU following the Ant-Man outing, with the screenwriter being tapped to pen Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. Coming courtesy of Deadline, Marvel is not yet done with Loveness’ talents, with the studio looking to reunite the writer with the quantum realm and multiverse of madness that will no doubt permeate throughout Ant-Man 3 and the Avengers sequel.

Jeff Loveness is best known for his work on the likes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Rick and Morty, with the writer set to make his blockbuster debut with the MCU sequel Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania. Due for release next year, Ant-Man and Wasp: Quantumania will follow Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne into the quantum realm, where they are threatened by Jonathan Major’s Kang the Conqueror.

Announced at San Diego Comic-Con in July 2022, not much has yet been revealed regarding the direction of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. But, based on the title, the Avengers outing is likely to find the superhero team doing battle with Kang, who is set to make his debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania after being teased in the Disney+ series, Loki. It’s likely that Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will take inspiration from the comic book run of the same name by Kurt Busiek, which finds Kang the Conqueror, a warlord from the 30th century, arriving in the present-day intent on conquering the planet.

Jeff Loveness would join Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton, who will helm Avengers: The Kang Dynasty for Marvel Studios. Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is scheduled to be released on May 2, 2025, and will be followed by Avengers: Secret Wars, which is scheduled to be released on November 7, 2025.

Bringing in Jeff Loveness to write Avengers: Kang Dynasty certainly makes sense, seeing as his prior Marvel outing, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, will introduce Kang to the MCU. Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang and Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, alongside Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kathryn Newton, Jonathan Majors, and Bill Murray.

While we have yet to see much from the Ant-Man threequel, it has been revealed that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will follow Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne, along with Hope's parents Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne, as they set off on a new adventure into the Quantum Realm. While exploring this lesser-known element of the MCU, the heroes will be faced with their greatest threat yet, the dreaded Kang the Conqueror.

As well as debuting Jonathan Majors’ supervillain, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will also introduce Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang, Scott Lang's daughter, who will join her father on his latest mission and become the superhero, Stature.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is scheduled to be released in the United States on February 17, 2023, and has now been confirmed as the first installment in Phase Five of the MCU.
