Jack Black is a man of many talents. Whether those talents are your cup of tea or not remains up to you, but in the end, it can't be denied that the man keeps bringing his boyish brand of brash humor to box-office successes one after the other. But will Black ever lend his talents to, let's say, a Marvel movie? Black says he doesn't have any plans but jokes that his character from director Jared Hess' 2006 cult classic comedy Nacho Libre would make one hell of an Avenger.

Specifically, when asked if he'll ever join a Marvel film, Jack Black said this.

"I don't have any plans. I mean, I feel like Nacho Libre was kind of a superhero. He wore a costume and fought crime and was a hero of sorts. So, I guess I've already scratched that itch, as it were. Unless they want to, ya know, add Nacho to the MCU, you never know. I think he'd be an awesome addition to the Avengers team."

Hahaha. Now, obviously, Jack Black is just kidding here, but I have to say, seeing him sport his blue underwear and red cape in the next Avengers sequel sounds like just the shot in the arm the super-series needs. But that's just being silly. After all, maybe the DC Universe and a rebooted Justice League is where Black's portly luchador would be better suited. At the very least he would serve to brighten up those overly dark dramas.

Anyhow, for those of you out there that might not know, Napoleon Dynamite director Jared Hess' cult classic comedy Nacho Libre was released back in 2006. It followed Black as a Mexican monastery cook who must disguise his identity and moonlight as a Lucha Libre wrestler to raise money to properly feed the host of orphans at his monastery. While the film wasn't by any means a major hit when it was first released in the summer of 2006, it has gone on to gather up its fair share of fans. That said, the movie still only sports a 40% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: "At times hilarious, but other times offensive, Director Jared Hess is unable to recapture the collective charisma of his Napoleon characters, instead relying on a one-joke concept that runs out of steam. Sure to entertain the adolescents, however."

Now, whether or not the powers that be behind the scenes of DC and/or Marvel decide to take Black up on his offer to join their heroic teams, Black fans need not worry about the man finding work. In fact, his next film in the pipeline is the sure-to-be massive hit sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, Jumanji: The Next Level. That film, which co-stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Danny Glover, and Danny DeVito is all set to be unleashed into a theater near you next month. In the meantime, this fun bit of business comes to us from an interview Jack Black conducted over at ComicBook.com.
