Earlier this week, we got our first dose of R-rated footage in the red band trailer for Broad Green Pictures' highly-anticipated sequel Bad Santa 2. While it's clear that Billy Bob Thornton's Willie Soke hasn't changed too much since the original 2004 classic Bad Santa, in this sequel, he'll have to contend with his mother, Sunny Soke, played by Oscar winner Kathy Bates. For those seeking footage that's safe for all ages, the studio has released a new green band trailer, which reveals exactly how Willie's former partner in crime, Marcus (Tony Cox), was let out of jail.

At the end of the original Bad Santa, Marcus and his wife Lois (Lauren Tom) were arrested and thrown behind bars. We learned in yesterday's trailer that Marcus is out, and he has a job for Willie that could be worth millions. This new trailer from Broad Green Pictures reveals that Marcus was let out of prison due to "overcrowding," which leads to one of many off-color jokes from Willie in this footage. We also get another look at Willie's mom Sunny, who seems just as cantankerous as her son.

Bad Santa 2 returns Academy Award-winner Billy Bob Thornton to the screen as America's favorite anti-hero, Willie Soke. Fueled by cheap whiskey, greed and hatred, Willie teams up once again with his angry little sidekick, Marcus (Tony Cox), to knock off a Chicago charity on Christmas Eve. Along for the ride is 'the kid' - chubby and cheery Thurman Merman (Brett Kelly), a 250-pound ray of sunshine who brings out Willie's sliver of humanity.

Mommy issues arise when the pair are joined by Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy-winner Kathy Bates, as Willie's horror story of a mother, Sunny Soke. A super butch super bitch, Sunny raises the bar for the gang's ambitions, while somehow lowering the standards of criminal behavior. Willie is further burdened by lusting after the curvaceous and prim Diane, played by Emmy Award-nominee Christina Hendricks, the charity director with a heart of gold and libido of steel. You better watch out: Bad Santa 2 is coming to town.

Mark Waters directs Bad Santa 2 from a screenplay by Johnny Rosenthal and Shauna Cross, based on characters by Glenn Ficarra & John Requa. Bad Santa 2 will have plenty of competition when it hits theaters over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. This R-rated comedy will go up against Paramount's romantic thriller Allied, starring Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard, 20th Century Fox's dramatic comedy Rules Don't Apply starring Lily Collins and Alden Ehrenreich and Disney's animated adventure Moana, featuring a voice cast lead by Dwayne Johnson and newcomer Auli'i Cravalho. Take a look at the new all ages trailer for Bad Santa 2, and stay tuned for more on this highly-anticipated sequel.
