When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters in late March, it wasn't treated too well by critics, earning just a 27% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film did manage to be a success without positive reviews, earning $871.1 million worldwide. It seems the movie has one famous fan, with a comic book legend recently offering plenty of praise for this superhero adventure.

Frank Miller, who wrote the iconic comic The Dark Knight Returns that Batman v Superman was partially based on, appeared at a panel for MegaCon in Orlando over the holiday weekend, where he was asked about the new movie. The writer had nothing but praise for Ben Affleck's performance during the panel's Q&A session. Here's what he had to say below, courtesy of DCComicsMovie.com

"I liked it, he's a good actor. I mean, he's obviously very, very close to this material and plays it with great affection."

While the movie as a whole wasn't received terribly well, most critics singled out Ben Affleck's performance as Batman as one of the film's highlights, along with Gal Gadot's debut as Wonder Woman. Frank Miller also revealed that he was "rooting" for Batman, while hinting that he may have been consulted on the movie. While he didn't say one way or another, he teased that Warner Bros. has his number. We don't know for sure if he'll be brought on to do any work on the future DC Comics adaptations.

Ben Affleck will return as Batman in this summer's Suicide Squad, although it isn't known how large or small his role in that movie is. He was seen in the trailer and photos from the set riding atop The Joker's (Jared Leto) car, but we don't know much else about his role in that movie. Production is also under way on Justice League Part 1, which is set for release on November 17, 2017, under the direction of Zack Snyder.

Ben Affleck is also developing a solo Batman movie which he will reportedly star in and direct, while writing the script with Geoff Johns. Warner Bros. recently named Geoff Johns as one of the heads of their new DC Films banner, alongside Warner Bros.' Jon Berg. We'll be sure to keep you posted with more updates on this solo Batman movie, Suicide Squad and the rest of the projects in Warner Bros.' DC Extended Universe (DCEU).
