Back in December of last year, it was rumored that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has a running time of 151 minutes. That has officially been confirmed today by AMC Theaters. The two hour and thirty minute length clocks in at three minutes longer than the 148 minute Man of Steel.

While two hours and thirty minutes is quite long for your average movie, some feel that this is way too short for the very ambitious Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The movie not only features a title bout between the two titans of the title, it will also introduce Wonder Woman, Doomsday and set up Justice League Part 1. There is a lot of world building that needs to be done in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. While some movies might feel long at 151 minutes, it sounds like Batman v Superman is going to be a brisk, non-stop ride full of action and thrills that won't have time to catch its breath.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is one of the most ambitious superhero movies ever made. Even though it arrives three years later as a sequel to Man of Steel, it is the movie Warner Bros. and DC are using to set up their DCEU on the big screen. And in that, it will reportedly introduce a number of iconic characters.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to include cameos from Aquaman, The Flash and Cyborg. Though, it has been stated over the past year that these appearances are fleeting. And of the Justice League heroes outside of the Trinity, Aquaman has the biggest role to play. And he's only in two scenes. Ben Affleck's Batman will be walking onto the scene a seasoned vigilante. We're not sure how much of his backstory will be told, and it's assumed that a lot of the narrative will be made from what fans already know about the character. Perhaps he doesn't need much set-up in terms of screen time. But Wonder Woman, on the other hand? Gal Gadot is the first actress to ever play her on the big screen. And her history is not as well known amongst movie fans. There is no doubt she'll feel short changed here. But we're getting a solo Wonder Woman adventure in 2017, so perhaps that's okay?

Fearing the actions of a god-like super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City's own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis's most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it's ever known before. Check out the official AMC listing below. It isn't known when tickets will go on pre-sale.
