After a tiny sneak peek of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that debuted on Monday night during Gotham, the third trailer debuted tonight during ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which features a ton of new footage. Perhaps the trailer's biggest reveal, though, is our first look at the massive villain Doomsday, who is seen at the end of this new footage. This monstrous villain is also what brings Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) out of the woodwork, as she arrives just in time to save both Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill).

This footage also gives us a better look at these title heroes as civilians Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne, who first meet while Clark is covering an event that Bruce Wayne attends. While neither appear to know each other's alter-egos at this point, it's clear they have opposing viewpoints when it comes to the Man of Steel. Surprisingly, the trailer reveals that it's none other than the villainous Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) who is responsible for bringing both Clark and Bruce together.

While this is the first time we've seen Doomsday, there have been a slew of rumors that teased he would pop up in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. One rumor claimed that Lex Luthor has obtained the corpse of General Zod (Michael Shannon), who was killed by Superman in 2013's Man of Steel, and used it to create Doomsday. We've briefly seen Zod's corpse in the last two trailers, but it still hasn't been confirmed that this is how Doomsday comes to life.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be the first big-screen adventure ever that brings both Batman and Superman together. We learned from director Zack Snyder at this year's Comic Con that Batman's Gotham and Superman's Metropolis are "twin cities" separated by a bay, similar to San Francisco and Oakland. It has also been confirmed that part of the destruction in 2013's Man of Steel spilled over into Gotham, destroying Wayne Tower, which helps set up the conflict between these two heroes.

Man of Steel stars Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) return for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which introduces a slew of new characters. Gal Gadot stars as Wonder Woman, alongside Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Holly Hunter in a role created specifically for this movie. Other supporting cast members include Jena Malone, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Tao Okamoto and Scoot McNairy.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will kick of Warner Bros.' DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU) on March 25, 2016. Just a few months later, the villains will take over with Suicide Squad (August 5, 2016), which will also feature an appearance by Ben Affleck as The Dark Knight. Those movies will be followed by Wonder Woman (June 23, 2017), Justice League Part 1 (November 17, 2017), The Flash (March 23, 2018), Aquaman (July 27, 2018), Shazam! (April 5, 2019), Justice League Part 2 (June 14, 2019), Cyborg (April 3, 2020) and Green Lantern Corps. (June 19, 2020).
