Most trailers don't debut until six months before the release of any given movie. That is usually the industry standard. Some movies are the exception, with Disney and Lucasfilm releasing an 88 second teaser for Star Wars: The Force Awakens a full year before its release in theaters this December. If a new rumor is correct, we'll get the first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice teaser trailer a full year and three months before it hits theaters in March of 2016. Though, there is no confirmation from Warner Bros. or DC that this is actually happening next month.
Trusted rumor source El Mayimbe from Latino Review claims that the first Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice teaser trailer is set to arrive in theaters with Warner Bros.' Jupiter Ascending on February 6. That delayed sci-fi adventure from the Wachowski Starship could use any boost it can receive, and attaching Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to the front of it can't hurt ticket sales, especially if its a theater only release. Though, if Star Wars: The Force Awakens is any indication, the teaser will arrive online and in theaters on the same date. That is pure speculation, though.
While Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice only wrapped principle photography last month, announcing the end of production on December 5, that still gives director Zack Snyder ample time to put a teaser trailer together. Especially considering footage was shown during Comic-Con 2014. There was speculation that the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer would debut during Super Bowl 2015. Debuting it in front of Jupiter Ascending will be cheaper for the studio, and it will bring some added awareness to Jupiter Ascending. So, this latest rumor may be right on the money:
