Ben Affleck is continuing his promotional tour for the upcoming adaptation Gone Girl, appearing on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, where host Jon Stewart naturally turned the talk towards the actor's highly-anticipated turn as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The interview segment doesn't include any concrete information about director Zack Snyder's superhero adventure, where Ben Affleck's Batman will square off against Henry Cavill's Superman, a battle that fans will likely be discussing for years after the film hits theaters in March 2016. However, Jon Stewart does offer his theory about why Superman will emerge victorious against The Dark Knight, using the logic that Superman's laser vision and the ability to fly is no match for Batman and his "utility belt."

Here's what Jon Stewart had to say during a portion of the interview.

"No matter how good you do, he can fly. You're in the middle of a fight with Superman, and Superman just lasers the s--t out of you, and then he just flies."

Sound logic indeed, but we have a feeling that this epic showdown will be much more complex than a laser blast followed by Superman's speedy exit, especially after the footage from Comic-Con 2014 showed The Caped Crusader and the Man of Steel locked in a steely stare-down.

Ben Affleck also chided Jon Stewart for offering a number of "spoilers" that reveal the secrets of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Gone Girl, which we're assuming aren't true. Then again, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice still a year and a half away, it's possible Jon Stewart may have been telling the truth when he reveals Superman emerges victorious over Batman, simply because no one would believe these details would be leaked so early. Still, it's doubtful that Warner Bros. would sign off on this reveal, given the immense secrecy surrounding the project, but it will be interesting to revisit this clip in March 2016, to see if Jon Stewart was really telling the truth. After all, he does have a 50/50 chance of being right, regardless.

In related news, Ben Affleck also addressed the social media "rivalry" of sorts between Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Star Wars: Episode VII. It all started when Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder sent out a photo of Henry Cavill dressed up as a Jedi. Ben Affleck revealed in a new interview with Yahoo! Movies UK that the rivalry started with J.J. Abrams and Colin Anderson sending Ben Affleck a picture of them both wearing cheap Batman masks.

"I think it was started because J.J. [Abrams] and Colin Anderson, who is a great [camera] operator who always works on my movies, and J.J. is always trying to steal, and I'm trying to steal back, sent me a picture of the two of them wearing cheap Batman masks. I showed it to Zack [Snyder], and said 'this is bullshit, we have to do something'. Zack had the means to retaliate appropriately, Stormtroopers getting stuffed into cars by the Gotham Police Department, stuff like that. I think it's cool. The sort of meta-awareness of these movies, and the two directors going back and forth... I like it, it's cool."

We'll keep you posted if the back-and-forth between J.J. Abrams and Zack Snyder continues, but, in the meantime, you can take a look at Ben Affleck's full interview with The Daily Show host Jon Stewart below. The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice portion begins around the 5:30 mark.
