With Batman Vs. Superman gearing up to start shooting early next year, pre-production is already under way in Pontiac, Michigan. A new story from the Detroit Free Press reveals that this highly-anticipated sequel will be the biggest film production in state history.

Here's what Michigan Motion Picture Studios COO Anthony Wenson had to say in a statement.

"This project will employ more Michigan residents than any other film project has ever employed in the state of Michigan."

The Michigan Motion Pictures Studios complex is home to the sequel's production offices and, when principal photography begins next year, all seven soundstages will be used. Batman Vs. Superman will also shoot in several areas around the Pontiac area, with shooting scheduled to run through August of next year.

Zack Snyder is directing from a screenplay by David S. Goyer. Henry Cavill (Superman/Clark Kent), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Diane Lane (Martha Kent) and Laurence Fishburne (Perry White) reprise their roles from Man of Steel, with Ben Affleck (Batman) and Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) also joining the cast. We reported last week that Jason Momoa is in talks for an unspecified role, which is rumored to be either Doomsday or Martian Manhunter.
