Tv Guide's "Sci-Fi Preview" is reporting that the Sci-Fi Channel may put the original Battlestar Galactica prequel Caprica into production. This is happening due to the lack of scripts because of the writers' strike.

SciFi Channel vice president Mark Stern stated, "I just got a call from NBC-Universal. They want us to take another look at the project." The prequel will take place a century before the contemporary version of the series. It will reveal the inventor of the Cylons, and deal with Bill Adama's father.

No production start date has been set at this time.
