The studios have had a busy day changing release dates left and right, with everything from Star Wars: Episode VIII to Jumanji getting new slots on the release calendar. Paramount has also decided to give their highly-anticipated Baywatch a new release date, slotting it for May 19, 2017. The Baywatch remake doesn't currently have any direct competition, but this was the same date the studio had set for Terminator Genisys 2, but that movie was just taken off the release calendar.

In related news, the cast of Paramount's Baywatch remake is coming together nicely, with a strong supporting cast surrounding stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Just weeks after Dwayne Johnson himself revealed that Kelly Rohrbach has come aboard to play Pamela Anderson's beloved character C.J. Parker, the actor took to his Instagram page earlier today to reveal yet another cast member, Ilfenesh Hadera, who is playing the actor's love interest Stef. Here's what the actor had to say to his social media followers earlier today.

"Casting my #Baywatch love interest wasn't easy (extremely tough job but hey I'm one of the producers;) but we finally found her. For our coveted role of "Stef", she had to be a lot of things: Strong, intelligent, formidable, beautiful and funny. Want to welcome the talented @ilfenator Ilfenesh Hadera to our #Baywatch family. She's a 5'11 walkin' smokestack with legs for days. Smart and tougher than new rope... just the way we like 'em. And seeing as she's playing my love interest - my strong calloused hands are the ONLY HANDS allowed to rub suntan oil on her soft supple skin. You hear that Efron? Step out of line Zac and she'll knock your unattractive candy ass into next week. Mine too. Our dope cast is coming together nicely with a few more big announcements/cool surprises along the way. Let's have some rated R fun.. We are the keepers of "The Bay". We are... #Baywatch."

Ilfenesh Hadera joins a cast that also includes Alexandra Daddario will be playing Summer Quinn, a character originally portrayed by Nicole Eggert. Dwayne Johnson revealed in one of his videos with Kelly Rohrbach that she should call him "Mitch," hinting that he is playing David Hoff's role of Mitch Buchannon. It hasn't been revealed yet if Zac Efron is playing a character from the original series or not.

It's possible that Ilfenesh Hadera's "Stef" could be Stephanie Holden, originally played by Alexandra Paul. In the original series, Stephanie Holden was romantically linked to Mitch Buchannon, so it's possible that Stef could be Stephanie Holden. It has been rumored that roles were written for both Pamela Anderson and David Hoff, but it isn't known if they will come aboard yet. While she wouldn't officially comment on the rumors back in August, Pamela Anderson said that "no one appreciates the remakes."

Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses) is directing from a screenplay most recently written by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift (Friday the 13th). Justin Malen (Bad Teacher 2) wrote the original draft of the script, with Dwayne Johnson also producing alongside Beau Flynn and Ivan Reitman. Ilfenesh Hadera most recently starred on the HBO miniseries Show Me a Hero and in Spike Lee's new movie Chi-Raq. She currently stars on Billions, the new Showtime TV series which debuted this past weekend.
