In a story from Variety, it appears that BBC America has picked up the final 5 Doctor Who specials that will complete showrunner Russell T. Davies' tenure on the British sci-fi franchise.

The way it breaks down is that The Next Doctor, the series' Christmas special, will run at 9 p.m. June 27, and the next special after that, Planet of the Dead, will air in July.

Currently, dates and times for the final three shows are being worked out.

The newest "incarnation" of the show is presently being finalized. What is known is that Steven Moffat (who worked with Davies) will be the showrunner and Matt Smith will be the Doctor.
