The unstoppable Becky will return in a sequel, Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky, it has now been announced. Introduced in 2020, Becky follows young actress Lulu Wilson as the title character, a little girl who is forced to fight against a gang of Neo-Nazis led by Kevin James. A task she is surprisingly adept at.

In a report by Deadline, Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky has now been given the greenlight. Lulu Wilson will return, with American Pie star Seann William Scott in tow. The action thriller sequel has recently wrapped production, which was undertaken in secret in New Jersey. The follow-up sees several changes behind the scenes, with Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky written and directed by Matt Angel and Suzanne Coote, who take over from the first outings Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion and scribe Nick Morris.

A synopsis for Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky has also been revealed which reads: “After living off the grid for two years, Becky finds herself going toe to toe against Darryl, the leader of a fascist organization, on the eve of an organized attack.” It sounds like Becky has had a hard time getting over the brutal experience of the first movie, and that her vendetta against fascists has only just begun.

Producer Russ Posternak released a statement alongside the announcement of Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky in which he teased the expanded scope of the sequel. “Audiences have been asking for a Becky sequel since the film’s 2020 premiere and we’re proud to work with Quiver again to extend the franchise,” Posternak began. “Our goal was to up the ante from Becky 1 in every way imaginable and with Matt and Suz’s wild script and Seann William Scott’s turn as our terrifying villain opposite Lulu’s Becky, we know we’ll deliver the thrills, gore and heart that audiences loved in the original.”

Quiver Distribution’s Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman added, “We’re thrilled to bring back our favorite young heroine in Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky. Brought to life by the fantastic Lulu Wilson, audiences will continue to root for Becky as she fights back against new evil forces.”

Released in 2020 and directed by Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion, from a screenplay by Nick Morris, Lane Skye, and Ruckus Skye, the first Becky centers on the spunky and rebellious title character as she tries to reconnect with her father during a weekend getaway at a lakefront house. The trip soon takes a turn for the worse when convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick, suddenly invade the home.

Becky finds comic actor Kevin James playing against type as a violent Neo-Nazi gang leader, with Becky introducing Lulu Wilson as the most capable kid since Home Alone’s Kevin McCallister. Becky received mixed reviews from critics upon release, but it’s hard not to be excited to see what the character will get up to next.

Becky 2: The Wrath of Becky does not yet have a release date, but Quiver Distribution will reportedly aim to release the sequel in 2023.
