Back in October, we reported that Ben Affleck was in early discussions to star in Focus alongside Kristen Stewart. Today, we have word that the actor has parted ways with the project, due to his busy schedule.

The actor would have played a veteran con man who takes a young grifter (Kristen Stewart) under his wing before falling for her. They meet again years after splitting up, complicating their lives even further. Ben Affleck was reportedly very interested in starring in this comedy, although the timing could not be worked out. The studio is now searching for a new male lead, before production begins this coming spring.

Glenn Ficarra and Glenn Ficarra (Crazy Stupid Love) are directing from their own original screenplay. The filmmakers had originally wanted their Crazy Stupid Love stars Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone to play the con man couple, although they are no longer involved.
