Ben Kingsley and Alessandra Mastronardi have signed on to star in the indie drama Life for director Anton Corbijn.

We first reported on the project back in September, when Robert Pattinson and Dane DeHaan joined the cast. The drama is based on the true story of photographer Dennis Stock (Robert Pattinson), who struck up an unlikely friendship with James Dean (Dane DeHaan) after landing an assignment with Life Magazine to take the movie star's picture. No details were given for Ben Kingsley and Alessandra Mastronardi's characters.

Luke Davies wrote the screenplay, with See-Saw Films' Iain Canning and Emile Sherman producing alongside First Generation Films' Christina Piovesan. The film is currently shooting in Toronto, with production also scheduled to take place in Los Angeles.

Ben Kingsley will next be seen reprising his Iron Man 3 role of Trevor Slattery in Marvel One-Shot: All Hail the King, which will be attached to Thor: The Dark World's Blu-ray and DVD release on February 25. The actor also signed on to star in the comedy sequel Night at the Museum 3 last month. Alessandra Mastronardi most recently starred in To Rome with Love.
