Last month, we reported that Ben Kingsley is lining up a secretive Marvel project which is rumored to focus on the real Mandarin squaring off with the actor's Trevor Slattery character from Iron Man 3. When asked about the Mandarin rumor, the actor would not confirm that potential story line.

"I can't confirm that. No, I can't."

He did essentially confirm that the project is a new Marvel One-Shot short film, but it isn't known when he actually may shoot the project.

"Not really. [Laughs.] I think it may be seen as . . . sometimes [Marvel] tacks on a short film to one of their other releases, maybe on a DVD or something. I haven't heard anything at all about this. So it's in progress. It will have to remain under wraps. Marvel was so brilliant in the way they kept the transition from the Mandarin to Trevor Slattery in Iron Man 3. They were absolutely brilliant at it. I so respect the way they dearly want to surprise their audiences. But we will just have to leave it in the realm of rumor."

It isn't known if Marvel plans on attaching the short film to the Thor: The Dark World Blu-ray and DVD release sometime next year, or where it may debut.
