Andrzej Bartkowiak (Doom) has signed on to direct Beneath the Deep for Hannibal Production Inc.

Armand Speca wrote the screenplay, which focuses on a group of tourists stranded in the Caribbean, who must square off against mysterious visitors to survive.

Richard Rionda Del Castro and Armand Speca are producing Beneath the Deep, with Patricia Eberle, Douglas W. Miller, Jeff Andrick, and Anthony Gudas executive producing.

Production is slated to begin this March in Puerto Rico. Andrzej Bartkowiak, who began his career as a director of photography, last directed Street Fighter: Legend of Chun-Li in 2009.
