Earlier this week, rumors started flying that Star Trek Into Darkness star Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in Star Wars: Episode VII. Just one day later, the actor's representatives shot down the rumor, at the same time another story surfaced, revealing he was in talks to play a Sith Lord. Earlier today, at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of The Fifth Estate, the actor himself revealed that no offer has been made, although he does want to work with J.J. Abrams again..

"This is the simple truth. J.J. (Abrams) and I have worked together before. I would love to work with him again. No offer has been made. That is that. And that is that."

The only confirmed information we have regarding Star Wars: Episode VII is that J.J. Abrams is directing from a screenplay by Michael Arndt. We reported last month that production is scheduled to begin in January 2014 at Pinewood Studios in London.
