Ever since its debut, we have loved Jurassic Park for its fast-paced but highly understandable sci-fi-adventure story. Every child dreams of what it would be like to live among dinosaurs, and something about these films satisfies the child in all of us. We were all excited when Universal started a reboot in 2015, and now we have three new movies to enjoy.

While there are strengths in both Jurassic Park and Jurasic World, there is no doubt that special effects have improved drastically over the past several years. New great special effects technology has allowed filmmakers to introduce newer and scarier dinosaurs and more elaborate and intense action sequences in the updated franchise. With the Jurassic World series coming to a close Dominion, now is the perfect time to brush up on the movies and celebrate the best the series had to offer. If you are looking to enjoy some dinosaur action, here are the best dinosaur fights in the Jurassic World trilogy.

6 Gigantosaurus vs. T-Rex (Dominion Prologue)

The prologue for Jurassic World: Dominion gave us a sneak peek of what it would be like to have real dinosaurs let loose in the real world. Back at its release, it defiantly increased the anticipation surrounding the film. Before looking at dinosaurs in the present day, we get to see some animation of dinosaurs 65 million years ago.

We haven't seen the T-Rex loose too many fights in this series, so it was fun to see it fight against a creature that is an even match. The battle between the Gigantosaurus and the T-Rex is fun to watch, but very short. Since the dinosaurs which were alive 65 million years ago have little impact on our world today, it is hard to feel personally invested in the fight. It was fun to watch in the theaters, but it is not as entertaining or pivotal as the other scenes on this list.

5 Gigantosaurus vs. T-Rex and Therizinosaurus (Dominion)

Jurassic World: Dominion focused much more on its main cast of characters fighting dinosaurs than on dinosaurs fighting one another. Still, we got in a few good moments of dino-V-dino action. At the end of the movie, a gigantosaurus pursues our heroes as they try to escape into a helicopter. It doesn't look like they will make it until the T-Rex comes to the rescue. As the Apex predators fight to the death, our main characters find themselves in an almost equally dangerous situation as they have to dodge debris and try to escape the dinosaurs' fight circle.

4 Indominus Rex vs. Anklyosaurus and Gyosphere (Jurassic World)

This fight is proof that any action sequence can be improved with the proper use of props. The Indominus Rex hunted a lot of other dinosaurs after escaping his confinement chamber. This scene takes place when the I-Rex finds the Anklosaurus group. The Anklyosaurus' definitive hard plating and strong club tail allow it to put up a good fight, but not for long. Soon afterwards the Indominus Rex turns its attention toward the two boys stuck in the "unbreakable" gyrosphere. The gyrospehre presents an interesting puzzle to both the dinosaur and the brothers. Their solutions play an important role in establishing the I-Rex's creative aggression and the boys' survival instincts.

3 Carnotaurus vs. Sinoceratops and T-Rex (Fallen Kingdom)

Arguably the most exciting scene of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the volcano run. When a volcano erupts on the dinosaurs' island everything with legs runs for cover. For just a moment on screen, all the greatest and smallest dinosaurs are made equal by a natural phenomenon that none of them can fight. The lush greenery contrasted against the blazing orange fires makes for beautiful (albeit tragic) cinematography. While Claire, Owen, and Franklin run from the lava, a Carnotaurus seems ready to attack them.

Luckily the dinosaur is distracted by a Sinoceratops and later a T-Rex. As our heroes desperately run for shelter, we get to watch this short battle play out alongside them. The volcanic scene is a powerful reminder that a great natural disaster killed the dinosaurs, and that nature is stronger than any one species.

2 Indoraptor Vs. Blue (Fallen Kingdom)

There is nothing as heartwarming as the relationship between a man and his raptor. Even though the climax of Fallen Kingdom shares many similarities with other dino-fights, the underlying emotions make this battle stand out. Blue, Owen's Alpha raptor, comes to rescue his human friends after the vicious indoraptor corners them in a bedroom. Blue isn't quite as big or strong as the indoraptor, but the help from the film's heroes turns it into an even fight. It's cool to see our greatest heroes all work together so seamlessly without verbal communication. This fight is also loved for its unique setting and tracking shots atop the beautiful Lockwood manor.

1 T-Rex and Blue Vs. Indominus Rex (Jurassic World)

The scarier the dinosaur, the more intense the fight, at least in the case of this dinosaur battle. The Indominus Rex is terrifying not only for its massive size and strength, but also for its keen intellect and speed. Throughout Jurassic World our main characters consistently find themselves out smarted by this best. By the final battle, our heroes find themselves fighting this creature with very little man power. In an act of desperation, Claire frees the T-Rex in the hopes that it will instinctively come help them battle Indominus. The plan works, and subsequently we get to enjoy a large scale battle between some of the most feared dinosaurs. The epic scale, high emotional stakes, and surprise ending all push this epic battle toward the top of our list.
