Hulu's movie line-up for March might not be jam-packed, but the debuting films have been catching tons of attention in the weeks leading up to their anticipated release date. Although two new movies will be released in the second half of March, from hunting a murderer to finding true love, Hulu has something in store for everyone just in time for spring.

Boston Strangler is the newest true crime adaption to come to Hulu, based on the real-life murders committed by Albert DeSalvo in the 1960s. DeSalvo was convicted of torturing and killing 13 women within the span of two years, between 1962 -1964. But, unlike the famous film about the murders made in 1968, this new take on what happened will allow us to see the case from a whole new perspective. This month, love will also be in the air, thanks to Rye Lane, another Hulu original that first debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. A complete one-eighty from a movie about strangling, Rye Lane is all about finding happiness and restoring your faith in love.

On Mar. 17, Kiera Knightly and Carrie Coon take on Boston's most prolific serial killer in Boston Strangler. The Hulu original film, written and directed by Matt Ruskin and produced by Ridley Scott, isn't the first adaption about Albert DeSalvo, the infamous murderer from Massachusets. Still, it is the first depiction to focus on the two women journalists who helped crack the case back in 1964.

Knightly plays Loretta McLaughlin, the reporter who was the first person to connect that the murder running rampant in Boston might all lead back to one suspect. She then teams up with journalist Jean Cole (played by Coon), and together they continue to report on the crimes being committed by, who they dubbed, the Boston Strangler. The duo is not only facing a killer but also discrimination as they are halted in their tracks at almost every turn due to the overwhelming sexism of the 1960s. As the pair risks it all to uncover the truth, the killer claims more and more victims until there is finally a break in the case.

Rye Lane (Mar. 31)Rye Lane

Next up for this month is another Hulu film, this one of the much less morbid variety, releasing on Mar. 31. Titled Rye Lane, the romantic comedy is set in South London and tells the story of two twenty-somethings, Dom (David Jonsson) and Yas (Vivian Oparah) trying to cope after their messy breakups. They meet at an art exhibit and, in perfect rom-com fashion, casually spend the entire day with each other, bonding over shared traumas. Dom reveals that his ex cheated on him with his best friend leaving him with the worst kind of insecurity; the feeling of unworthiness. Yet he finds himself believing in love again, thanks to the help of Yas. Rye lane is a movie we can all relate to, dealing with heartbreak and finding the joy of discovering yourself again after grieving the loss of past relationships. Not to mention, critics have been raving about Rye Lane, with an unheard-of score of 97% on rotten tomatoes...yeah let's say you're going to want to see this movie.

Now Streaming on Hulu is a Hindi-Family Drama following the Batra family and their final four days in the home that has been in their family for generations. The drama arises when younger family members want to live on their own, leaving those who wish for the family to stay together under one roof feeling frustrated. We all have our own complications that arise, unlike those we love, and the Batra family is no different as they learn how to support each other's ups and downs, just like any of us.

There will be more than just new movies on the streaming service this month; Hulu is bringing back classic favorites from years prior. Two very fitting films for this month are Groundhog Day (1993), about a weatherman who relives the same day over and over, reporting the news in the small town of Punxsutawney, PA, and The Ides of March (2011). Starring George Clooney as a gung-ho Democratic Governor running for President, and Ryan Gosling as his press secretary, who learns you have to be willing to do just about anything to get into the Oval Office.

You're in luck because the entire Expendables trilogy will also be available for streaming right in time for St. Patrick's Day. So you'll be able to watch Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, and the rest of their mercenary crew fight off the bad guys all month. The complete list of movies available this month is on Hulu's website, where you'll find titles like Just Go With It (2011) and Rambo The Last Blood (2019).
