Gunther’s Millions is a docuseries about the richest dog in the world, Gunther, who supposedly inherited a fortune following the death of a wealthy countess. What might sound like a Disney movie akin to the Aristocats is far from anything as wholesome. The series is an unbelievable story about a dog worth $400 million and the man pulling the strings of the entire operation named Maurizio Mian, an Italian entrepreneur and pharmaceutical heir. With 27 employees, a yacht, and multiple properties in Italy, Gunter’s life was everybody’s dream. In fact, some were lucky enough to live that dream with the dog in his house simply because they were young and beautiful. However, what begins as a story about fortune and fame quickly devolves into something more deceptive and manipulative.

Freeridge (Feb. 2)

Freeridge
Netflix

The debut season of Freeridge, a spin-off of sorts to On My Block, follows a group of high school teens who somehow buy a cursed box and inevitably unleash darkness and misfortune on themselves. While the premise of the show might sound like a spooky horror endeavor, the new series leans heavily on comedy more than anything. It’s a coming-of-age story center around two sisters, Gloria and Ines, and their friends, Demi and Cameron, as they navigate high school and their recently acquired curse. While the spin-off series won’t be bringing back any of the original characters from its predecessor, the same kind of antics, minus the more serious explorations of gang life, are sure to run rampant as this new set of teens tackle the ups and downs of growing up.
