"If you drink one drink, drink two, drink three Long Island ice teas. But your buddy's worse off and he throws you his car keys!" AMC has just unveiled the official song for Better Call Saul, the highly-anticipated Breaking Bad spinoff series that follows lawyer Saul Goodman before and after his fateful meeting with meth kingpin Walter White.
This catchy tune comes courtesy of Junior Brown, who rattles off a number of reasons why you Better Call Saul in what serves as both a music video and the catchy jingle for a commercial might see playing on TV late at night. The tune brings just the right amount of sleaze and charm to what promises to be one of next year's most exciting TV dramas.
Bob Odenkirk will reprise his role as the infamous Albuquerque-based lawyer in the series premiere, set six years before Saul Goodman's entire life is upended. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and, often, against Jimmy, is Mike Erhmantraut. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer." The series' tone is dramatic, woven through with dark humor.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan directed the first episode of the series, which will consist of 10 episodes, followed by a Season 2 that consists of 13. We get a taste of what to expect with this catchy tune, which was written by Better Call Saul creators and writers Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. Take a look and a listen:
