Bill & Ted Face the Music has added Grammy Award winning rapper Kid Cudi to the cast. The news comes after sequel star Alex Winter shared some storyboard art on social media, giving fans their first real look at the highly anticipated sequel. Production is expected to begin this month, presumably after Keanu Reeves, who appears to have cloned himself to be everywhere, finishes promoting Toy Story 4. The actor has been receiving rave reviews for his performance as Duke Caboom in the highly praised Pixar sequel.

A lot of the story details surrounding Bill & Ted 3 are under wraps currently. The same can be said for the role played by Kid Cudi in the sequel, which is currently unknown. Are the Wyld Stallyns going to expand the band to include a rapper? Probably not, but stranger things have happened. Rap infused rock just seems like something that came to prominence 20 years ago after trailblazers Faith No More and Rage Against the Machine perfected it in the early 1990s. Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey even included a cameo from then Faith No More guitarist Jim Martin.

Kid Cudi, aka Scott Mescudi, previously appeared on the big screen in Need for Speed and the Entourage movie. He has also starred in some indie films including James White and Vincent N Roxxy. The Kid Cudi Bill & Ted 3 casting news comes after it was revealed Brigette Lundy-Paine and Samara Weaving have been cast as the daughters of our titular heroes. Lundy-Paine plays Billie Logan, the daughter of Ted "Theodore" Logan, while Weaving plays Thea, the daughter of Bill S. Preston Esquire. The two actresses do look like they could be the real-life daughters of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter.

In addition to Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, Bill & Ted 3 also sees the return of William Sadler as the Grim Reaper. Sadler starred in Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey and is very excited to be back on board for the sequel, which Co-writer Ed Solomon describes as "A Christmas Carol with Bill and Ted." In the sequel, the heroic duo are met by someone from the future who informs them they have to "save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe" through the power of their music.

Bill & Ted 3 hits theaters on August 21st, 2020 and fans are already counting down the days. With production set to begin this month, we should end up seeing some set photos of the reunited heroes, along with their daughters, Kid Cudi, William Sadler, and whoever else jumps on board for the long-awaited sequel. It's been a long time since the world has seen Bill and Ted and we're all ready to see them as middle-aged men saving the world with the music of the Wyld Stallyns. The Hollywood Reporter was the first to announce Kid Cudi's casting in Bill & Ted Face the Music.
