Bill & Ted Face the Music co-writer Ed Solomon has shared a new picture of the dynamic duo's daughters. It was recently announced that Samara Weaving has been cast as Thea Preston, Bill's daughter, and Brigette Lundy-Paine is playing Billie Logan, Ted's daughter. Additionally, it was just revealed Grammy Award winning rapper Kid Cudi has joined the cast of the highly anticipated sequel, though it isn't clear who he is playing just yet. So far, he is only said to have a "significant" role.
Ed Solomon shared a picture on social media of his office wall. There's an old school image of Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves from the first movie with casting pictures of Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine directly below. Then there's an image of Winter and Reeves in the current time with similar pictures of Weaving and Lundy-Paine. Solomon and crew did an excellent job on nailing the look of two teens who look like they could be the real-life daughters of Winter and Reeves.
Bill & Ted 3 producer Scott Kroopf recently spoke about the casting of Samara Weaving and Brigette Lundy-Paine and compared it to originally finding Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves. So far, the fan reaction has been nothing but excitement. Production is gearing up to begin this month and it's hard to believe that it's finally happening after 28 years of waiting for it. Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson have crafted the perfect story, according to Reeves and Winter and we all can't wait to see what they have written.
Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) is set to direct Bill & Ted 3, which will find our heroes out to save the universe with the power of their music. However, they are middle-aged men with families these days and things have changed quite a bit since we last saw them. These normal dudes are going to have to make some sacrifices to get everything in order and it's going to cause some strife at home with their wives and daughters. Whatever the case may be, time is ticking and the heroes have to get their act together.
Alex Winter recently spoke about Bill & Ted 3, noting it that it has an "independent spirit" and doesn't feel like "some stale knockoff." Getting Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves on board after all of these years guarantees Chris Matheson and Ed Solomon have written something special. Both actors have said over the years they would love to come back, but only if the story was as good as the original two installments. Had the idea been a knock-off, the studios probably would have been knocking down the doors to get it made, but instead it was a struggle, much like the first two installments. While we wait to see what Bill & Ted 3 brings, you can check out Ed Solomon's Twitter picture of the new cast members below.
