Some fans are rightfully worried that Bill & Ted Face the Music won't be able to live up to the legacy of the franchise. Long gestating comedy sequels haven't fared well over the course of the past decade. Just look at Zoolander 2, Dumb and Dumber To and Anchorman 2, which all arrived well past their sell-by date. None did much for the fans, and were pretty disappointing. Have the gang behind Bill & Ted 3 found a way to subvert that? We're not sure judging from the first storyboard, but we definitely have high hopes.

Alex Winter is returning to play Williams 'Bill' S. Preston Esquire and Keanu Reeves will be back as Ted Theodore Logan. Together, they are Wyld Stallyns, and it's up to them to save the world. Production is gearing up after years in development. To celebrate the start date, Winter has provided fans with a fun update, showing off one of the storyboards from the sequel that has been over 18 years in the making.

The scene has the camera tilting up to find our excellent heroes staring at something that has both exhaling, 'Whoa!' This is scene 3, shot 15, so it comes from early in the movie. Bill has his backwards baseball cap on, as he wore in Bogus Journey and Ted is sporting longer shoulder length hair. We can't really get a sense of how these guys have changed over the years. This looks like it could have been pulled from one of the original movies.

It was recently announced that Bill and Ted will be bringing their daughters along on this excellent adventure. Samara Weaving is playing Thea Preston, daughter of Bill and Brigette Lundy-Paine is playing Billie Logan, daughter of Ted. After hearing the news, many fans worried that this comedy sequel was pulling the kind of gender swap that has been attempted with Ghostbusters and Ocean's 8 with varying degrees of success. Others wondered very loudly about what happened to Little Bill and Little Ted from the end of Bogus Journey. Are they still in the picture? Did Ted really name his kids Little Bill and Billie? Did Bill really name his kids Little Ted and Thea? Come on.

The stakes will be quite a bit higher for William "Bill" S. Preston Esq. and Theodore "Ted" Logan this time around. The musically inclined pair have not fulfilled their rock and roll destiny. Now the two middle-aged best friends must set out on a new adventure, when a visitor from the future warns them that only their song can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe. Along the way, they will be helped by their families, old friends and a few music legends. We can only hope that G.G. Allen and Mike Patton are somehow thrown in the mix. Alex Winter's Twitter brings us this update.
