Billy Bob Thornton is reuniting with Halle Berry in the drama, Tulia for Lionsgate.

Carl Franklin is directing the film about an ACLU lawyer's efforts to expose a corrupt and racially motivated rash of drug convictions in rural Tulia, Texas, in 1999; it's an adaptation of the Nate Blakeslee book Tulia: Race, Cocaine, and Corruption in a Small Texas Town, says Variety.

Shooting on Tulia begins April 30th in and around New Orleans.

Thornton has also signed on to star in two other films - Peace Like a River is an adaptation of the Leif Enger novel, which will be produced by Brad Pitt's Plan B. He'll also reteam with writer-directors Mike and Mark Polish on their next film, Manure.
