After hitting a casting snag for his big Broadway comeback, Riggan Thomson (Michael Keaton) catches a miraculous break in a new clip from Fox Searchlight Pictures' Birdman.

Written and directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, Birdman centers on Riggan Thomson, a washed up actor who used to be a major movie star, best known for his iconic portrayal of a superhero. His glory days long behind him, Riggan tries to mount a comeback by staging a Broadway production, although he runs into a number of problems along the way.

This scene features Riggan trying to solve his latest problem with Brandon (Zach Galifianakis), after their "perfect dream actor" parted ways with the project. Thankfully, and somewhat miraculously, their problems are solved when Lesley (Naomi Watts) suddenly arrives with news that Mike Shiner (Edward Norton) is now interested in taking the lead.

Check out the latest scene from this critically-acclaimed dark comedy, also known as The Unexpected Virtue Of Ignorance, which hits theaters October 17.
