The latest poster for the upcoming DC outing Black Adam sees Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson standing alongside the superhero team The Justice Society of America. Released on social media by Twitter user @DCverso1, the poster puts the ensemble cast of superheroes at its center within a starkly bright red. You can check out the latest poster for Black Adam below.

Created for the pages of DC Comics by Otto Binder and C. C. Beck, Black Adam is chosen by the wizard Shazam to harness the powers of the ancient Egyptian gods. Gifted a set of powers that includes S for the stamina of Shu, H for the swiftness of Horus, A for the strength of Amon, Z for the wisdom of Zehuti, A for the power of Aten, and M for the courage of Mehen, Dwayne Johnson has been signed on to suit up as Black Adam for many years, with fans excited to see the actor finally take to the skies.

Black Adam will act as an origin story for the character while also picking up with him in the modern day. Nearly 5,000 years after receiving the almighty powers of the Egyptian gods and being imprisoned just as quickly, Black Adam is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.

The poster offers another look at the members of the Justice Society of America AKA the JSA standing alongside the title character. In front is One Night in Miami star Aldis Hodge, who leads the JSA as Carter Hall AKA Hawkman. An archaeologist who discovers that he is the reincarnation of an Egyptian prince, Hawkman has the power of flight from his stunning metal wings, and is a great and proficient warrior.

Hawkman will be back up by Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel AKA Cyclone, the granddaughter of former hero Red Tornado, who can control wind and generate sound; To All the Boys I've Loved Before star Noah Centineo as Albert "Al" Rothstein AKA Atom Smasher, who can control his molecular structure and manipulate his size and strength; and finally, James Bond star Pierce Brosnan, who joins the world of comic book movies as Kent Nelson AKA Doctor Fate. A member of the JSA and the son of an archaeologist, Nelson was taught the ways of sorcery and was given the magical Helmet of Fate.

Audiences cannot wait to see Brosnan take on the role of Doctor Fate, a casting choice that has been deemed pitch-perfect by DC fans. Brosnan himself is equally as excited to join the pantheon of comic book movie heroes, describing Black Adam as “an ensemble piece” adding, "You have Dwayne, who's at the pinnacle of his fame and fortune and success and popularity. He is magnificent as Black Adam. We are the Justice Society and there's four of us, so we became a strong quartet of actors. The writing was very good. There was just enough beats."

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Adam Sztykiel, Rory Haines, and Sohrab Noshirvani, Black Adam is scheduled to be released in the United States on October 21, 2022.
