Black Forest Film Group is planning to develop Quarantine: The Loners after picking up feature rights for the project. The film is an adaptation of a Lex Hrabe and Thomas Voorhies novel, who are also writing the screenplay together. The novel is the first book of a trilogy being released this July.

The film is an action-thriller that follows the outbreak of a virus that is deadly to anyone after puberty. A typical American high school becomes a battleground after the military quarantines more than a thousand teens, who subsequently form violent gangs based on previously established social cliques. Instead of battling for popularity, the students must fight for survival. The main characters are two brothers whose relationship is tested when a young girl threatens to come between them.

Mark Morgan from The Twilight Saga is producing with Kami Garcia, E. Thompson and Brett Hudson.

This project is still in early development.
