Miley Cyrus is always up to something, isn't she? Recently the singer-actress was a guest on Howard Stern Sirius XM show and decided it was a top time to go ahead and spoil some TV news for Netflix. The story goes that the spawn of Billy-Ray "don't tell my achy breaky heart" Cyrus was talking about the recent Malibu fires, and somehow that conversation turned to her all but 100% confirming that she will be appearing in the upcoming fifth season of Netflix's dystopian future drama series Black Mirror.

Miley Cyrus was being overly secretive about her role in the fifth season, explaining that nobody told her she could officially speak about her guest-starring role yet. But she basically went ahead and did it anyway, telling Stern that if he guessed what the secret project was, she would shake her head yes or no. And I'm guessing Stern guessed correctly what the super-secret project was because Cyrus then went on to say this about appearing in Black Mirror Season 5:

"I'm really actually excited for everyone to watch the 'headshaking project' we said yes to [before]. The minute I say I never want to do something again, all of a sudden, there I am."

She then added this.

"I hate everything, but it was the first time I've left somewhere feeling really proud of my work."

Good for her, finally. From there, Cyrus didn't - or you know couldn't - reveal much more about her upcoming role of the series, but she did give some further hints to what we can expect, saying that it's a very "dynamic role" that has a "lot of different sides" to it.

"There's a lot of dimension to it, and actually it was while the devastation of Malibu was happening, and it was a really weird learning experience for me because I was so far from home and the show is already really dark, and it's already kind of eerie when you're there the whole time. But I learned a lot about myself, and I think I was able to use that and put that into it."

Netflix declined to comment.

I'm not much of a Miley Cyrus fan so this news does little for me, personally. I mean I've seen the girl straddle wrecking balls and lick sledgehammers like the rest of the planet, but I know next to nothing about her other than that she was on a Disney show called Hannah Montana, correct? Anyways, all 'meh' feeling towards Cyrus aside, I am a big fan of Netflix's Black Mirror. In fact, my lady and I are currently watching the first four seasons. So far our favorite episodes have been Dan Trachtenberg's Playtest starring Wyatt Russell, Toby Haynes' USS Callister, Tim Van Patten's Hang the DJ, and, of course, Owen Harris' San Junipero starring Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis.

An official release date for the fifth season of the Charlie Brooker-created anthology series has yet to be announced, but evidently, Netflix themselves may have revealed the secret date of December 28th, as far as the website Mirror says. We'll let you know when we hear more. Until then, The Hollywood Reporter is responsible for breaking this story.
