As Marvel prepares to unleash Avengers: Age of Ultron into the world in just a few short weeks, the studio is already prepping their monstrous Phase Three slate, which includes nine movies in just a three year span. One of them is Black Panther, slated for release on July 8, 2016, which already has Chadwick Boseman attached to star as T'Challa. While the project does not have a writer or director yet, El Mayimbe reports that Ernie Hudson is circling the role of T'Challa's father, T'Chaka. Here's what he had to say below.

"#Marvel #BlackPanther #RUMOR Actor Ernie Hudson is circling the role of King T'Chaka ruler of Wakanda & father of Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa aka The Black Panther."

Naturally, this has not been confirmed by Marvel, but El Mayimbe's sources reveal that Ernie Hudson has reportedly been hitting the gym and picking up back issues of the Black Panther comic books that pertain to T'Chaka. It was recently confirmed that Andy Serkis is playing Ulysses Klaue in Avengers: Age of Ultron, a character who has long ties to Black Panther's homeland of Wakanda. This could mean that the studio is starting to set up the Black Panther universe in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and in Captain America: Civil War, where Chadwick Boseman will make his debut as T'Challa.

In the Marvel comics, T'Chaka' was murdered by Ulysses Klaue, but we'll have to wait and see if this story line is used in Black Panther. On the big screen, Ernie Hudson most recently starred in last year's You're Not You, and he also appeared as Poseidon on the ABC adventure series Once Upon a Time. Do you think the actor is right for the T'Chaka role? Let us know what you think below.
