Following the release of the epic first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the IMAX version of the footage has now been unveiled —allowing all of us to get even more of the MCU magnificence into our eyeballs. Released via social media courtesy of the official IMAX Twitter account, the IMAX trailer shows the trailer in 1:90 aspect ratio and thus offers a wider view of the incoming war between Wakanda and a mysterious underwater nation.

Much like the Marvel movies before it, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will be released on the biggest screens possible in IMAX, with this expanded ratio trailer teasing the difference that a wider look will make. Offering an even better look at the snowy mountains, the nation of Wakanda, the underwater world, and all the action and characters in between, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever continues to look like one of the MCU’s best offerings. Something which has been reflected in the trailer viewing figures.

Since its release, the first trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has amassed a huge 172 million views in 24 hours, making it one of the biggest trailer releases in MCU history. The movie has since been hugely popular on social media, with reports stating that “Black Panther” received 893,000 mentions.

Directed by Ryan Coogler and written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will see many actors return to reprise their roles from the first Oscar-nominated outing. Leititia Wright will once again star as Shuri, the princess of Wakanda who has been given a bigger role following the death of Chadwick Boseman. Starring alongside her are Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Winston Duke as M’Baku, Florence Kasumba as Ayo, Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams AKA Ironheart, Michaela Coel as Aneka, Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross, and Angela Bassett as Ramonda, the Queen Mother of Wakanda.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will also mark the MCU debut of beloved Marvel character Namor the Submariner. Played by Tenoch Huerta, the Black Panther sequel will find the underwater ruler at war with Wakanda, with the antihero expected to play a major role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe going forward.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to be released in the United States on November 11, 2022. The sequel has now been confirmed to be the final outing in Phase 4 of the MCU, with Phase 5 now confirmed to be comprised of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, The Marvels, Blade, Captain America: New World Order, and Thunderbolts.
