It was rumored at the beginning of the year that Taskmaster was going to be the main antagonist in the Black Widow movie. Now, we just might have some proof to those rumors, thanks to the latest set pictures from Budapest, Hungary. We've seen quite a few photos from the set over the past few weeks, but they have mostly centered on Scarlett Johansson's Natasha Romanoff and her stunt double. There were some recent images that gave a hint to Florence Pugh playing Yelena Belova.

A mysterious armored character has been spotted on the Black Widow set and it could very well be Taskmaster. However, if it is the villain in question, it looks like he has been given a Marvel Cinematic Universe makeover. It's hard to tell from the cellphone images, but the mask doesn't exactly look like a skull and the character does not have a cape. This could be the look based on the Ultimate take on Taskmaster, which features a more normal design with a military background.

The mysterious character from the Black Widow set is seen in a tank from a few different angles and he has some sort of pack on his back. It's tough to make out the colors, but he looks silver with some red markings. The villain has some pretty extraordinary talents in the comics and he has crossed paths with Natasha Romanoff in the past, along with other members of the Avengers. One of his main abilities revolves around his hyperactive muscle memory that gives him the ability to learn just about anything from watching. In the past, Taskmaster has learned Hawkeye's skills with a bow, the Punisher's firearms talents, and Daredevil's athletic abilities, to name a few.

Marvel Studios has yet to officially confirm the Black Widow standalone movie, but boss Kevin Feige will be talking about the project at this year's San Diego Comic-Con and D23. Hopefully we will get confirmation on who the villain in the long-awaited standalone movie will be at that time. As far as when the movie takes place, it is believed it will be a prequel as Feige pretty much confirmed this during a recent interview.

But, when in the MCU timeline does Black Widow take place? There have been reports stating we will see Natasha Romanoff in between the events of Captain America: Civil War and Infinity War when the Avengers were splintered and on the run. This would certainly make for a good spot in the timeline, but it has yet to be officially confirmed by anyone at this time. While we wait for more information on the Black Widow movie, you can check out the latest set photos below, thanks to the Coomikaze Instagram account. The images may prove to be of Taskmaster when all is said and done.
