The Untitled Blade Runner Project is starting to really heat up. We've known for awhile that Harrison Ford will be back to reprises his lead role as Rick Deckard. Ryan Gosling will co-star in the movie. Robin Wright has a secret role in this Denis Villeneuve directed sci-fi sequel. And now, one of the Guardians of the Galaxy is teasing a key character.

While it hasn't been made official yet, it sounds like Dave Bautista is the latest cast addition for Blade Runner 2. He has shared a new photo on his Facebook page. While he doesn't mention the movie by name, he is seen holding the iconic origami unicorn from the 1982 original Blade Runner. Here's what he has to say, as attached to the photo seen below.

"I can't wait to share some really exciting news..."

Golden Globe winner Robin Wright is now in final negotiations to join Alcon Entertainment's sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 masterpiece Blade Runner, it was announced earlier this week by Alcon co-founders and co-CEO's Broderick Johnson and Andrew A. Kosove. Principal photography is scheduled to begin July 2016 and the film will be released by Warner Bros. in North America. Sony Pictures Releasing International will distribute in all overseas territories in all media.

The Untitled Blade Runner Project is set several decades after the 1982 original. The film is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green, and succeeds the initial story by Fancher and David Webb Peoples based on Philip K. Dick's novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep. Story details, as well as Wright's character, are not being revealed.

Alcon Entertainment acquired the film, television and ancillary franchise rights to Blade Runner in 2011 from the late producer Bud Yorkin and Cynthia Sikes Yorkin to produce prequels and sequels to the iconic science-fiction thriller. Cynthia Sikes Yorkin will produce along with Johnson and Kosove. Bud Yorkin will receive producer credit.

Frank Giustra and Tim Gamble, CEO's of Thunderbird Films, will serve as executive producers. Ridley Scott will also executive produce. Warner Bros. recently set a January 12, 2018 release date for the Untitled Blade Runner Project, where it will go up against Gnomeo & Juliet: Sherlock Gnomes and an untitled 20th Century Fox/Marvel movie. Do you think Dave Bautista is a good fit for this sequel? It sounds like he'll jump right in as Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 wraps this summer.
