According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spike TV has sunk its teeth into Blade with a pickup marking the first scripted series for the cable network. Spike TV has ordered a total of 13 hours, including the previously announced two-hour pilot/original movie, with a premiere date set for June.

Blade, produced by New Line Television, is based on the Marvel Entertainment superhero -- a half-man, half-vampire who fights a shadowy underworld of vampires who want to destroy the human race -- and is being adapted from the film trilogy starring Wesley Snipes.
