The lines between the Sony Spider-Verse and the Marvel Cinematic Universe have quickly become blurred thanks to the epic saga that is Spider-Man: No Way Home, leading fans to wonder what other possible crossovers this could lead to. Well, Spider-Man: No Way Home producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal have now responded to one of the more popular ideas, suggesting that Marvel’s Blade, the vampire slayer could indeed face off with Sony’s Morbius on the big screen.

“Blade and Morbius, that’s a cool idea. You know the future, you never know what’s going to happen. There’s all sorts of possibilities.”

With Morbius being a vampire and Blade having an affinity for hunting vampires down, bringing the two characters together would certainly be one of the easier crossovers to explain. Speaking with Geeks of Color, Feige and Pascal certainly sound open to a project centered on the pair, with the answer suggesting that, beyond Blade versus Morbius, there could be many more Marvel/Sony crossovers to come.

Of course, any movie featuring Blade and Morbius would need to merge their respective universes together. But, this may not be as complicated as first thought. While Blade is seemingly cemented in the MCU, Morbius is much more of a question mark. In fact, the marketing for Morbius so far has hinted at the character being surrounded by all manner of multiversal madness, including characters and details from the likes of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man franchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Amazing Spider-Man series, and Tom Hardy’s Venom franchise, leading some to wonder whether the story will involve the title character exploring multiple universes. Whether this is the case or not, Morbius is clearly not afraid to merge elements from across these disparate franchises together, making it much easier to bring Blade into the fold should the studios decide to do so.

Until then, the likes of Morbius and Blade still have their standalone adventures to contend with. The former will introduce one of Marvel's most compelling and conflicted characters, as Jared Leto is transformed into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.

Notably, Leto himself has responded to a potential meeting between Morbius and Blade in the past saying, "That is a good question, and I could see that happening in the future. I could see that happening, yeah."

As for Blade, a leaked synopsis has revealed the first details regarding Oscar winner Mahershala Ali’s MCU debut. “Himself a half-human/half-vampire, “Daywalker” Eric Brooks (Ali) has honed his abilities to hunt down the undead who have long terrorized mankind,” the alleged logline reads. “A human-vampire hybrid since his tragic birth, Blade has spent his long life seeking to rid the world of vampires like the one that killed his mother. Over the years, he has mastered his own style of fighting monsters of all kinds.”

Morbius is scheduled to be released in the United States on January 28, 2022, with Blade due to begin filming in late Summer 2022 in Atlanta.
