A sequel to Blast from the Past is not outside the realm of possibility with at least one of its main stars making it clear she's up for a sequel. Released in 1999, Blast from the Past stars Brendan Fraser as a thirtysomething who joins the "real world" after spending his entirely life growing up in a fallout shelter. While on the outside, he meets a woman played by Alicia Silverstone who helps him get acclimated to life in the late 1990s.

Per Variety, Silverstone was present at '90s Con where she reunited with some of he co-stars from Clueless to participate in a panel with the fans. She was asked from one person if she would ever revisit Blast from the Past with a follow-up film, and Silverstone says that it would be an instant yes from her, as she would just be happy to work with Fraser again on something new, whether that's Blast in the Past 2 or any other project. As Silverstone explains:

“With Brendan? I would do anything with Brendan. It was so much fun. I just saw Brendan after he won his Oscar and he’s so cute. He talked in his speech about how we all go through this really hard time and you have to grow and it’s part of life that you struggle and then look what happened to him! So yes, I’m happy to do that.”

Blast from the Past is directed by Hugh Wilson (Police Academy) who co-wrote the script with Bill Kelly (Enchanted). Along with Silverstone and Fraser, the film stars Christopher Walken, Sissy Spacek, Dave Foley, and Nathan Fillion. While there doesn't seem to have ever been any indication of a sequel happening in Hollywood, it is something that some fans have called for, and with Silverstone confirming she'd be up for it, Blast from the Past 2 is certainly not impossible.

We can certainly expect for Fraser to be in even higher demand moving forward, as he's now an Academy Award winner based on his performance in last year's The Whale. Following this, he will soon appear in the Martin Scorsese film Killers of the Flower Moon with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro. Fraser will also have a role in the upcoming comedy Brothers alongside Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage.

As for Silverstone, she recently reprised her role from Clueless for a Super Bowl commercial following recent roles in American Horror Stories and The Baby-Sitters Club. After appearing in recent movies like Last Survivors, The Requin, and Senior Year, she is next set to appear in the upcoming crime thriller Reptile alongside Benicio del Toro, Justin Bimerlake, and Michael Pitt.
