We have an exclusive clip to premiere from Blind Ambition, the movie that won the Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award. The documentary follows an unlikely team of Zimbabwean refugees turned sommeliers as they shake up the international wine establishment by competing in the World Wine Tasting Championships. Blind Ambition is directed by Warwick Ross and Rob Coe. The two also co-wrote alongside Paul Murphy and Madeleine Ross in addition to producing the feature for Australia's Third Man Films. The doc primarily follows Pardon Taguzu, Tinashe Nyamudoka, Joseph Dhafana, and Marlvin Gwese.

“I’ve been a fan of Warwick and Rob since seeing their award-winning documentary Red Obsession," said Peter Godwyn, president of Samuel Goldwyn Films, after the picked up the U.S. rights for the film, per Variety. "We are very excited to be working with them and bringing this triumphant tale to U.S. audiences."

Blind Ambition Has Scored a Rare 100% Rating at Rotten Tomatoes

Blind Ambition has already found success with its early reviews, garnering a perfect 100% score at Rotten Tomatoes. The critics agree that the feelgood doc is both heartwarming and inspiring, making it well worth the watch for viewers. It has also drawn many comparisons to Cool Runnings, with Kevin Maher of the Times calling it the "Cool Runnings of the wine-tasting world."

"The subject matter initially suggests a kind of Cool Runnings with plonk - but Blind Ambition soon builds into a full-bodied feel-good film," Allan Hunter of the Daily Express also noted.

"The real joy of Blind Ambition is watching the strength and ambition in the team," Jojo Ajisafe of Little White Lies wrote. "How they not only changed the lives of themselves and their families, but also exposed the world to the untapped talent present in Zimbabwe."
